  My son who was 10 felt upset about the 15 sad gentoo penguins there trapped underground in artificial light and a small backdrop picture of ice in a glass enclosure. He felt very unhappy at the way poor sentient animals were taken away from their mums and kept inside the walls with no natural light or fresh air. So many celebrities also have protested and requested they be freed, such as Chris Packham and Dale Vince. I am appalled that people still act innocent and visit.

  This is the sixth Sea Life Centre I've visited and I would say it's the second best one I've been to so far. Although the whole centre was underground, it felt big enough and was well ventilated enough that it never felt unpleasant. There is an excellent variety of animals - the usual favourites like seahorses, rays, starfish and jellyfish of course - plus some impressively sized sharks, a large turtle (plus smaller ones), a crocodile and penguins. The whole place seemed clean and well maintained. There were activities for children. There were plenty of toilets (an important feature when you have children with you). Drinks and food were expensive, but that's typical of an attraction and London in general! A call out to Becky at Fin's Bar for her friendly demeanor and for a bit of insight into the animals and how a Sea Life Centre operates.

  Please make sure to read whatever weasely, insincere, derivative and profit-driven drivel is given as a response to this comment, and note how it will avoid the basic facts of the matter, which are as follows: - There is no justifiable reason for the keeping of penguins at this entertainment (not educational) venue other than that: entertainment. - That the conditions are legal is not in question, and any response highlighting this will completely miss the point that: Their legality is also self-evidently deeply regretful and revolting, and will be to any human who stops to think for even the briefest moment about how these poor penguins must feel. - Despite the fact that the conditions are legal, they are also self-evidently cruel and unnecessary. For anyone visiting the aquarium, to be able to see such animal cruelty up close - a paid spectacle no less - in one of the world’s otherwise freest and animal loving cities - is more than shocking. It should be criminal. Shame on Merlin Entertainment, and really, shame on us all for allowing it for so long.

  SEA LIFE London Aquarium was one of the most memorable experiences I had in London 🐠✨. I really enjoyed seeing the jellyfish 🪼 and especially the penguins in real life 🐧, which was honestly wonderful. There were many sea creatures that I had not seen before, even compared to other aquariums I visited in Portugal and Moscow 🌍. At first, I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The only thing I would mention is that the theme felt a little too child-friendly in some areas 🎈, almost like a SpongeBob-style atmosphere. As a solo traveler, I initially felt that the place was more designed for kids and families rather than adults visiting alone. However, I understand that it is a family attraction, so the friendly and playful style makes sense 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. Overall, it was a wonderful visit 🐬, and I would still recommend it, especially for families and anyone who enjoys marine life 🌊.

  Those fishes are in too small of tanks & it's sad to see :( I mistakenly went on a Saturday, which was busy inside with kids & outside with animal rights protesters. I was pretty surprised the staff let the kids scream at the fish & bang on the tanks as much as they did. Even though there was at least one sealife staff & a security guard in each room. Speaking of rooms, their special exhibits are smaller in person & cramped if traffic flow isn't controlled. With how big the outside of the building looks, it feels like they prioritize The Paddington Experience, Shrek's Adventure, & the London Eye more so than the aquarium. Which makes sense how they sell tickets to those attractions as a package deal. Was my first attraction I went to since landing in London, & I wouldn't return again nor recommend it to new travelers.
